Giuliana Rancic finally responds to all the ‘too skinny’ body shaming

Giuliana Rancic‘s weight has been the topic of many discussions in recent months, and now the E! News star is finally addressing the reports that she is “too skinny.”

During an interview with People magazine, the petite anchor responded to the shaming and the speculation that she has an eating disorder, saying, “Some people were saying, ‘The cancer is probably back.’ And they were accusing me of every eating disorder. I thought to myself, ‘God, if someone really thought I had an eating disorder, what a horrible way to approach it.'”

While Rancic revealed she does not have an eating order, nor has her cancer come back, she is taking cancer-suppressing medication (and has been since 2012), which she claims has had an effect on her weight (according to her oncologist, the medication can cause weight loss).

“I started noticing that I was eating a lot, but not gaining weight at all,” Rancic told the magazine. “I was concerned.”

“It’s really hurtful,” Rancic continued, addressing the skinny shaming she has been facing in recent months. “I’m sorry that some people think I’m disgustingly skinny, as they put it, but there’s nothing I can do. I’m lucky that I even have the type of cancer that reacts to the medicine.”

Despite the Fashion Police host’s tiny frame, she admits to eating more than all of her friends, and she enjoys her food.

“I eat more than any of my friends,” she said. “I eat a very robust, healthy, balanced diet and dessert almost every night. I’m not hiding from anything.”

But the constant speculation and talk about her weight is negatively affecting Rancic’s self-image and becoming a distraction from what she does. Now, instead of focusing on her work, people are more concerned with her body.

“I look in the mirror and it’s hard for me,” she said. “I am really thin. I want to look fit and beautiful and sexy, and I can’t.”

“I never want my weight to distract people from what I do,” she said. “But it is becoming a distraction, [whenever] I wear something sleeveless, show my arms, my back.”
