Well, Kylie Jenner may have had her Easter “ruined,” but that hasn’t stopped anyone from talking about the now infamous blackface photos.
Over the weekend, Kylie Jenner posted several photos to her Instagram account.
In the photos she looked extremely stylized, face dark and shiny, almost like she had been dipped in metallic bronzer, or that the photos looked like infrared images. But many people thought the California-born reality TV star was sporting super-inappropriate “blackface.”

The backlash was immediate. And it didn’t help that Jenner captioned one of the photos, “What I wish I looked like all the time,” which prompted people to jump to the conclusion that she wants to “be black.”

Hollywood Life reported yesterday that a source said, “She’s [been] crying and really upset that people think she was being racist.”
Well, Kylie herself has now spoken out about the photos, saying, “This is a black light and neon lights people. Let’s all calm down.”

She also tweeted:
Yes, In another world I wish I could have pink hair & blue eyes & covered in sparkles.

But it is not nearly enough for fans and trolls alike.
The battle rages on in the comments of all the photos whether or not people think she is trying to “look black” or if the photos are just artistic.
The comments on the photo go back and forth defending the photo as being artistic and not looking anything like “blackface” to condemning the photo as being offensive and racist.
User Hannasnyder said, “Everyone is just reading into it too much, it is beautiful makeup, and everyone should just relax! God, it is not racist by any way, and should be looked at without a race card!”
Another user, chronnaseur, said, “Anyone thinking this is racist needs to get a life open your eyes and mind and celebrate beauty and creativity.”
Others are still fuming. “Yikes Kylie… yeah that kind of really looks like blackface to me… not a good choice of editing imo, @kimyonceee says on twitter”
What do you think about the photos: racist or artistic?
