Speculation and rumors are one of the dark sides to fame, and in recent weeks, Taylor Swift and Lorde have been plagued by rumors that they are engaged in a bitter feud — but they’re finally setting the record straight.

Reports surfaced claiming that the pair had been fighting after they could not see eye to eye on a new duet that they had planned to record. So, after taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Swift revealed what’s really happening between her and Lorde.
Poking fun at the rumors, Swift told the media that she is “LOLing” at them.
Lorde also took to Twitter to respond to the rumors, tweeting, “sisters are doin’ it for themselves @taylorswift13.”

So, how did these rumors even start? A source allegedly told OK! magazine that Lorde rejected the “Blank Space” hit maker’s request to work with her on a brand-new song.
“Lorde loves Taylor but she thinks that their voices have completely different sounds and they won’t mesh well together,” the source said. “Taylor was pretty disappointed with her reaction.”

But as both the performers said in their tweets, there is clearly nothing to worry about, and even though they are currently on opposite sides of the world they are still very much friends — so you can all breathe a sigh of relief.
Although, it would be pretty awesome if Swifty and Lorde did do a duet together, don’t you think?
