The franchise has officially confirmed that they will be making an eighth film, after Furious 7 blew up at the box office when it was released on April 3.
Vin Diesel himself confirmed the news at CinemaCon on April 14. “Furious 8 will be yours to share with the world on April 14, 2017,” he revealed.
“There is something you all did,” Diesel said, recalling announcing Furious 7 with Walker two years ago. “For me, personally, you all gave me so much confidence. There was so much love. You made me feel like we could actually make history with Furious 7. You’ve been so loyal all along… because there’s a pride that you have that we feel, the people that make the movie, the studio that I call my home, my family. You make us feel like we want to give you the best movie in the world to share with you.”

Unfortunately for Diesel, fans aren’t exactly responding well to the news of Furious 8, since most of them were entirely content with the way the series ended in 7.
