Let the Clueless puns begin. Stacey Dash has seriously earned them.
The actress turned Fox reporter went on The Meredith Vieira Show to explain that she feels like when women call out the pay gap, it’s “just an excuse.”

“If there are opportunities, seize them and be prepared for them and be the best if that’s what it takes,” Dash said.
Thankfully, Vieira was there to totally put her in her place and the look on Dash’s face at the end of the clip hopefully means she realized she got owned.

Vieira was quick to point out that it’s an “uphill battle” for women because we make 78 cents to every dollar a man does. And we may be working just as hard, if not harder, than our male counterparts, but those equal opportunities for pay are not available.
“At the rate we’re going, my daughter, who’s 22, will be 65 when there’s finally pay equality. There’s something wrong. There’s something clearly wrong. I don’t know that it’s just us not taking responsibility,” Vieira validly counters to applause from the audience.

Dash then tries to point out Vieira as an example of a woman succeeding in her career, but Vieira says that it took her a long time and admits there were times when she herself was affected by the wage gap.
Maybe next time Dash should, you know, do her job as a reporter and do some research before speaking so publicly about one of the biggest issues women in the United States face.
In the same interview, Dash also shared her views on Hillary Clinton’s presidential run.
Whom Dash plans to vote for in 2016 aside, this isn’t the first time she has made embarrassing comments regarding women. She said she was “appalled” by Patricia Arquette’s Oscars speech this year, which called for equal pay for women. And, back in February, Dash made controversial comments saying that “naughty” girls are the ones who get hurt when discussing college campus rapes.

Dash doesn’t have to agree with certain opinions. But she should at least educate herself enough to have well-formulated thoughts. Especially given her career choice on Fox News.
