Elizabeth Banks’ epic Tara Reid, Sharknado dis is feud-worthy

Someone get Tara Reid some ice for this burn.

Elizabeth Banks sat down with The Hollywood Reporter for this week’s cover story, and who knew she had so much shade to throw at poor Tara.

Apparently, the two were struggling to catch their first big break together during their early days in Hollywood, Elizabeth told the magazine.

There was a group of us girls coming up,” the Hunger Games star said. “A lot of us are surviving. Some of us are not. I used to go to auditions with Tara Reid. So, you know, we didn’t all make it. We’re not all still here.”

Ouch. Clearly no one ever told her if she doesn’t have anything nice to say, not to say anything at all.

But immediately, Elizabeth added, “I do love Sharknado.”

Um, sorry. A little love for Tara’s latest film franchise isn’t going to make this better.

Tara hasn’t publicly responded to the dis, but if this doesn’t start a feud between the two actresses, nothing will.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth opened up to THR about her latest project: directing Pitch Perfect 2.

“I went through no hoops for this particular job,” she said. “I just put myself right at the spot where someone needed to be to get the job. And I prepared. I knew I wanted to direct, so I met DPs, I ran sets, I chose music. I went through the process of directing in little ways — nothing too big or risky or time-consuming. I just started really observing.”

Somehow she managed to make it all the way through talking about that project without burning any costars.

She also said she plans to keep acting even as she takes on new roles in the film industry, saying, “I got a lot of balls in the air at all times. But my mantra every day on this set is just one word: endure.”
