Now in a sneak peak of Tuesday night’s 19 Kids and Counting episode, fans finally get a glimpse into Jill’s 70-hour delivery, which resulted in a cesarean section.
In the clip, Jill tells fans that when she got up to go to the bathroom at 3:43 am, her water broke.
“I think when my water first broke I was really nervous,” she explains in the clip. “I was like, this means that labor is going to start. OK, this is for real, this is really going to happen.”

The couple was prepared for an at-home birth, and they had their towels and a birth pool ready. Jill’s birth team, consisting of her mom, Michelle, eldest sister Jana and the midwife, were all set to show up after she’d labored on her own for the “first while.”
However, as most fans already know, Jill’s birth took an unexpected turn and at around the 48-hour mark, she revealed that they had “not really been able to get things going, and so at this point, we thought it would be a good time — while I’m not in an emergency situation — to get to the hospital.”
