After news of The Mindy Project being canceled broke the internet on Wednesday afternoon, we may be seeing a little light at the end of the tunnel.
Maybe. Potentially. We don’t know yet, but we are grasping at anything we can get a hold of to try to not fall off the earth after such devastating news.
It was just hours after the news broke that Mindy Kaling posted this cryptic message with an expectedly cheeky caption, “Hey guys I’m in Montana, is anything happening in LA? #themindyproject.”

What does it mean!?
The wink? The fact that she is out of town on vacation with friends during the announcement can’t be a coincidence. Kaling is clearly not letting the insanity of Los Angeles burning get to her with those serene surroundings. But we are falling apart over here!
More: Why it’s a big deal if The Mindy Project doesn’t get picked up for a Season 4
But it does seem all might not be lost! According to Variety, Hulu is rumored to be making a move to shift the show over to its streaming service for multiple seasons (two seasons with the potential for more are currently being reported). It’s not out of the realm of possibility that this rumor could be true.
Hulu just sealed the deal to syndicate the entire Seinfeld series from Sony TV, and in addition to new content like the hugely popular House of Cards, it already has James Franco on the hook to star in a Stephen King series adaptation and will be streaming The Walking Dead as well.
With big moves being made by the streaming service, let’s hope it adds this to its list of acquisitions.
