Nobody is ever going to make the argument that Willow Smith is a regular kid.

But in her video for her new song, “F Q-C #7” (pronounced “frequency #7,” for those of you who — like me — have no idea how to speak Willow), she’s as close as the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith can possibly get. It shows her doing all kinds of pretty normal kid things, like running through a field, sitting by a river (albeit in tribal face paint, which probably isn’t quite so normal), dancing in a forest and rocking the shit out of a pair of overalls.
It also has a few scenes where she’s dancing and singing with three other Willows, each one dressed in a different color. According to The Fader, she had an artistic reason for that.
“The different Me’s (sic) represent my Chakras. Yellow is self-confidence, Blue is my voice (song), Red is my survival instinct, and Black is a combination of everything (the true me),” Willow explained.

She also said creating the extremely artistic video was a high point in her music career.
“Writing the ‘F Q-C #7’ video and bringing it into reality was one of the most exhilarating experiences in my life,” she said. “For my republic I stand.”
The upbeat track is definitely going to nab a spot on every summer playlist. If it’s not stuck in your head by the end of the video, you need to stop whatever else you’re doing and pay attention.
The song, like the video, is about Willow’s normal, day-to-day life.
“I’m just climbing trees and skipping class now,” she sings. “Don’t place your blame on me… I’ve been climbing trees and jumping in creeks for you right now.”
