Jessa Duggar and her husband Ben Seewald recently paid a visit to the Institute for Creation Research in Texas to discuss proof that God exists.

Seewald decided to share the picture of himself and his pregnant wife Jessa visiting the center on Instagram along with a lengthy caption about how they “had the privilege of visiting.”
“Got to chat with Dr. Jason Lisle. He graduated summa cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University where he double-majored in physics and astronomy and minored in mathematics. He earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in astrophysics at the University of Colorado. Dr. Lisle specialized in solar astrophysics and has made a number of scientific discoveries regarding the solar photosphere and has contributed to the field of general relativity,” Seewald wrote.
But once again, the couple have managed to spark a backlash over their views.

Critics took to Instagram in hordes to share their own views, with one comment reading, “Since when do creationists have ‘scientists’?” Another wrote, “Where is the pic of jesus [sic] riding a dinosaur?! That would be awesome to see.”
Another user commented, “Praying for your offspring… May they not be as ignorant as their parents. May they recognize that hours, days and weeks are man made [sic] interpretations of time. Thus, the universe WAS NOT created in 7 days, as only the truly uneducated believe. May the Seewald children NEVER look at the Grand Canyon and then idiotically proclaim the earth is a mere 6000 years old. Your children are going to require much prayer for them to have a hope of doing God’s work… Way too late for ignorant Daddy & Vain Mummy!!!”
Seewald also got a chance to interview Lisle — which he posted in full on YouTube — and during the interview, he asked Lisle how he can prove to him that God exists.
Lisle claims the “evidence of God is everywhere,” and goes into a full explanation in the video (which you can watch below). Seewald also chose to share a screenshot of the video on his Instagram, which caused just as much backlash.

“Oh my lord…this video was laughable. Not only did this guy provide ZERO evidence to the existence of god, he was spewing nothing but fallacies…. just in the first two minutes, he had nothing but straw man arguments, circular reasoning, and ad hominem attacks against atheists. All I can do is shake my head. This video is such a hollow and pathetic attempt. Try harder next time, guys,” one angry fan wrote.
Another commenter shared similar sentiments, saying, “I cannot stand a word @ben_seewald has to say about anything, especially after his anti Catholicism [sic] statement. You my friend, sound as about intelligent as a bag of rocks. You need to do your research before you form an opinion. Are you even college educated??”
