Pink responds to body-shaming comments again in a powerful, vulnerable way

Last month, when people began commenting on Pink‘s weight after photos surfaced of her from a charity event, she fired back at the body-shamers in the most positive and brilliant way — and she’s not done yet.

The “Just Give Me a Reason” hit maker once again addressed her critics during an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the BMI Pop Awards, where she opened up about just how much she hates being bullied.

I don’t take well to bullying,” she told ET. “I never have. I’m not a person that will be bullied. I’m not a person that will stand by watching other people bullied.”

She might be well known for being a really tough person, but Pink, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, went on to explain that she is still a person with feelings.

“I am a girl, I have feelings, and people think I take no shit and I’m tough, tougher than nails. But I’m a human being,” she said.

She also questioned the bullies’ motives and why they think they have the right to criticize other people.

“I think people have gotten it wrong. They think their opinion matters and holds weight, and I don’t know where or why they’re giving themselves so much credit, you know?” she explained. “So I thought it was important for me to remind them that I don’t care. My life is full. I like food a lot and I really like to cook. I like to live. I find joy in that and we’re doing all right in the Hart household.”

But despite all the negativity and the unfair comments about her body, Pink is not going to let it destroy her. In fact, she’s only going to become stronger.

“Unless you’ve been dragged through the dirt then it really doesn’t end up being worth it when you get to the top, right?” Pink said of career, and that through her music she has “exorcised a lot of demons.”
