Let it be known: Cara Delevingne is one of our favorite models. She’s gorgeous, goofy and a great model. In a new interview, the model-turned-actress talks about being fat shamed — and we’re ready to beat up on some haters.

If we’ve learned anything from Top Model, it’s that the fashion industry is fickle and cruel. So it’s not exactly a surprise to hear Delevingne speak out about people within the industry trying to control her image. We’re glad she took her beef to the Wall Street Journal magazine, though, so the whole world can know what she’s up against.
“It’s horrible living in a world where I’ll get a call from someone saying, ‘So-and-so says you were partying a lot and you were looking this way and you need to lose weight,'” Delevingne shared with the reporter over lunch in Toronto. “It makes me so angry. If you don’t want to hire me, don’t hire me.”

This is exactly the kind of thing that is wrong with our world. Not only should no woman be told how to look or what to weigh, but it’s especially disconcerting to know people are telling the already-slender Delevingne to shed some pounds. Craziness, right? Luckily, if anyone is going to stand up for themselves, it’s going to be Delevingne.
She’s basically the modeling world’s biggest goofball. She’s not afraid to kill a slice of pizza. She loves to stick out her tongue mid-shoot and cross her eyes when taking selfies with her buds. At 22, she’s just trying to stay young and have fun. And she seriously believes there’s more to life than looking pretty.
“People see a pretty girl, and they expect to see a pretty face,” she told the WSJ, speaking of the goofy facial expressions she often makes. “I’m not going to do that.”
What’s not to love, right?
Luckily, Delevingne has found an escape. She’s recently started doing more acting and she says she loves it. It turns out being “pretty” is the very last thing actors worry about while on the job, which is exactly what makes it worthwhile for her. She just finished Pan, a new adaptation of the Peter Pan story, and will star in Suicide Squad next, acting alongside Jared Leto. *Swoon!*
Make sure you read the whole interview just so you can fall as wholeheartedly in love with Delevingne as us. And, Cara: You’re perfect, bae. Don’t listen to the haters.
