The verdict is in and the Olsen twins will officially not be joining the Fuller House reboot.

“Although Ashley and Mary-Kate will not be a part of Fuller House, I know how much Full House has meant to them and they are still very much considered family,” executive producer Robert L. Boyett confirmed in a statement. “It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House.”
And while the Olsen twins won’t be returning for their shared role as Michelle in Full House, original cast members Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber are all returning for Fuller House. John Stamos is also producing the series and will appear as Uncle Jesse, while Dave Coulier will return as Joey.

Time reports negotiations are currently underway for Bob Saget and Lori Loughlin to return as well.
The show, which will premiere on Netflix in 2016, follows D.J.’s (Cameron Bure) grown-up life as a veterinarian. She is pregnant and recently widowed while raising two boys and preparing for her third baby. Luckily, she has the help of her sister Stephanie (Sweetin) and her best friend and fellow single mother Kimmy (Barber).

And while nearly the entire cast is returning for Fuller House, it’s not that surprising that the Olsen twins have opted out of the show. The two have strayed from acting as they’ve grown, preferring to focus on careers in fashion instead. Ashley appeared in an uncredited role in 2010’s I’m Still Here, while Mary-Kate last acted in 2011’s Beastly.
