Mariah Carey shares her harsh opinion of American Idol

Well, if there’s one thing that Mariah Carey is not a fan of (and there are probably multiple things), it’s American Idol, because the pop diva’s latest comments about the show are pretty harsh.

Carey was a judge on Season 12 of the show, and during an interview with Australian KIIS FM hosts Kyle and Jackie O, via the Daily Mail, she shed some light on her experience.

It’s so boring and so fake,” the “Hero” singer reportedly said.

She then went on to explain what she meant by calling the show fake, saying, “I’m sorry I just think it’s… when I say it’s fake… I mean like you have to make up things to say about people. Half the time the performances are good, you just be like, ‘It was good,’ and you feel like ending it there. ‘You were really good.'”

So, would she ever consider returning for a possible reunion for the finale of American Idol? Don’t hold your breath.

“Hell, no! Absolutely not, that was the worst experience of my life,” Carey said. “I’m not going to get into what it was, let’s just say, I don’t think they had any intentions of us having a good experience through that show.”

“Pitting two females against each other wasn’t cool,’ she said, referring to her rumored feud with fellow Season 12 judge Nicki Minaj. “It should have been about the contestants instead of about some non-existent feud that turned into even more ridiculousness, and I would never want to be involved in it again, but everyone else can like it.”
