Kelly Clarkson woos us once again with inspiring Invincible music video

Kelly Clarkson is on the empowerment train and we’re all aboard.

After dealing with some horribly mean-spirited body-shaming earlier this year, Clarkson is back in full effect to tell the world that she is not about to let anything get her down. The singer’s new video for her single “Invincible” illustrates just how strong she is and helps to inspire other women in the process.

Clarkson is surrounded by boxes of warm light throughout the video, which is also filled with images of women of different races, sizes and cultural backgrounds dancing with powerful movement. Clarkson herself bounces through the video in a manner that emotes strength. “Now I am invincible / No, I ain’t a scared little girl no more / Now I am a warrior, a shooting star / I got this far, I had a broken heart,” Clarkson sings.

Perhaps the most inspiring element in the video is the presence of Chelsie Hill, who was paralyzed in a drunk driving accident four years ago, according to ksbw.com. Hill, who also stars on Push Girls, a reality show about four women living in Hollywood who use wheelchairs, documented her experience working with Clarkson’s team on Instagram.

The video seems like a continuation of the self-love message Clarkson sent out to the world after British journalist Katie Hopkins made cruel comments about the singer’s weight. “That’s because she doesn’t know me. I’m awesome! It doesn’t bother me,” Clarkson said to Heat magazine of Hopkins’ words. “It doesn’t bother me. It’s a free world. Say what you will. I’ve just never cared what people think. It’s more if I’m happy and I’m confident and feeling good, that’s always been my thing. And more so now, since having a family — I don’t seek out any other acceptance.”

With all the positive energy Clarkson has been emitting lately, it’s hard to believe that the singer is having a hard time finding artists to collaborate with.

“I honestly would collaborate with a lot of people, but everyone usually says no,” Clarkson said in a interview with BBC Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw. “I’m not kidding you. I have legitimately asked several people that I’m not going to call out, and that’s cool, but I don’t know.”
