Hopefully Kaitlyn Bristowe is prepared to ask the tough questions about reality on The Bachelorette this season, because one of her suitors has a big financial secret.
Turns out, Season 11’s Jonathan Holloway filed for bankruptcy back in April — after filming was complete — which is a good indication he probably needs to get his finances in order before settling down.

Holloway, an automotive spokesman from Detroit, is scheduled to have his first meeting with creditors later this month, according to Wetpaint.
The news is even more unfortunate because Holloway is a single dad.
Of course, Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants are expected to leave their jobs for the duration of filming, and suitors are reportedly not paid anything or provided wardrobe. If you are chosen as the Bachelor or Bachelorette, you get paid a good sum; otherwise, it’s all out of pocket.

Season 17 Bachelor and Season 8 Bachelorette contestant Sean Lowe explained, “When you’re a contestant, you don’t get paid a dime for the show. It’s a pretty big commitment to leave home for a few months while not receiving an income.”
No doubt that’s a huge stress on life, but Holloway and all the other contestants know what they’re getting into when they sign up for the show. Holloway should have been sure he could afford to take the time off.
Holloway’s Instagram and Twitter accounts are both private, and he has yet to comment about the news being made public.

Though we are only one rose ceremony in on this season of The Bachelorette, Holloway is still in the running for Bristowe’s heart. We wonder if he’ll disclose his financial problems to Kaitlyn, because there’s no way the trouble suddenly started after filming. The road to bankruptcy is a long and perilous one.
The Bachelorette airs Monday night on ABC.
