One of Caitlyn Jenner‘s children said something about her transition that took our breath away — and not in a good way.
While the photos of the former Olympian’s transformation from Bruce to Caitlyn in Vanity Fair are incredible — seriously, how gorgeous is she, like a brunette Jessica Lange — it is the statements inside that are most compelling, and in the preview of the article, one blurb really caught our eye: that of Burt Jenner, son of Caitlyn’s first wife Christie.
When asked about the transition, Burt had this to say: “I have high hopes that Caitlyn is a better person than Bruce. I’m very much looking forward to that.”
Um, rude much?

Burt’s snide comment does have a basis in the family’s past, though. His former stepmother Linda (Caitlyn’s second wife) has described her as an absentee father in an essay she wrote for the Huffington Post.
“I wouldn’t be completely forthcoming if I didn’t disclose in this writing that after Bruce and Kris married, there were periods of several years going by without Bruce attempting to contact or visit his sons,” she revealed. “No birthday cards or phone calls, no ‘Merry Christmas,’ no ‘Everything OK?’ after the big Northridge earthquake… They were saddened by his lack of participation in their lives, and my heart ached for them.”

This isn’t the first time Burt hasn’t had a great attitude about things involving his father’s transition. After the big Diane Sawyer interview, he launched a thinly veiled attack against the Kardashian clan on Twitter.
In a message that has since been deleted, he wrote, “Having a hard time not putting a few people on blast who were not supporters before hand [sic], but want to act like they were all along.”
Relationships in blended families are never easy, and his father’s transition to Caitlyn must have thrown a whole new level of complicated into the mix. Hopefully they can all make a fresh start.
