Explosive seems to be the best way to describe the Teen Mom OG Reunion, Part 1 recap.
The interviews were conducted by none other than resident MTV doctor Dr. Drew, and the reunion put all four of the teen moms back in the same room… with their current and former significant others.
This hourlong episode focused on just two of the ladies, Maci Bookout and Amber Portwood. But don’t be alarmed. The next episode will feature the other two ladies, Farrah Abraham and Catelynn Lowell. What happened during this episode was nothing short of tumultuous. To begin with, Dr. Drew spoke with Bookout about the elephant(s) in the room: her man, her pregnancy and, of course, quitting the show.

Dr. Drew asked why the young mother and her boyfriend decided to have unprotected sex again. She explained she has a condition called polycystic ovary syndrome, which makes it more difficult to get pregnant. She said, “This was something we both wanted together. We didn’t want to prevent it any more than it was already being reverted naturally.”

She discussed their decision to keep son Bentley off the show with baby daddy, Ryan Edwards. He said, “I think if MTV is going to do a TV show on preventing having kids, why bring someone back that is gonna do a porn or sell their artificial body part on the Internet?” He, of course, was referencing Abraham’s erotic business.
Things seemed even keel until Dr. Drew turned his attention to Amber Portwood.
Portwood took the stage with fiancé Matt Baier and eventually sat down with former flame and baby daddy Gary Shirley. That’s when things began to break down.
Dr. Drew wasn’t buying any of Portwood or Baier’s sobriety talk and kept questioning the pair about their relationship and history. To which Portwood got very emotional and replied, “I’m about to walk off this stage because this is getting annoying. It is what it is, we’re not addicts, we’re not fighting. I don’t like this. I don’t want to do this. I’ve worked too hard on myself. This is just stupid to me.”

She then got up and walked off, with a trailing Dr. Drew hot on her heels.
She said to him, “I have to calm down, Dr. Drew, or I’m going to explode. I just think he’s this amazing guy, and he’s the best thing that ever happened to me.”
When speaking with Shirley about the couple’s daughter, it seemed Portwood was getting a little overwhelmed again. Check out the video of the exchange below.
