Tipped to be one of the movie smash hits of 2015 we still have a few months to wait before Suffragette hits our screens. Luckily a new trailer has been released and it doesn’t disappoint.
The film was written by Abi Morgan, produced by Faye Ward and Alison Owen, directed by Sarah Gavron and stars Meryl Streep, as activist Suffragette leader Emmeline Pankhurst, and Helena Bonham Carter, as Edith New, one of the first Suffragette “window smashers.” Carey Mulligan plays Maud, a young working woman who sacrificed her family, her job and her freedom to join the fight for emancipation. Also in the stellar cast are Anne-Marie Duff, Ben Whishaw and Brendan Gleeson.
