Chris Soules’ latest gig makes us think he’s just looking for fame

Is anyone checking on Chris Soules’ crops?

If not, someone should probably get on that. The former Bachelorette contestant, Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars competitor just booked anotherreality TV gig. We’re sure Arlington, Iowa, gets pretty boring, but this is getting out of control.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Soules is one of the contestants on the upcoming season of the Food Network cooking competition show Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition. Fitting, since everyone knows bachelors can’t cook.

The show, hosted by Anne Burrell and Rachael Ray, is already in production, the site reports. During the season, a celebrity cast including Soules, Dean Cain, Ellen Cleghorne, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Jaleel White, Barry Williams and Kendra Wilkinson will compete in challenges that make up a sort of “culinary boot camp.” The winner will net a grand prize of $50,000 for charity and, presumably, some basic kitchen skills.

The show premieres this fall, and with the conspicuous timing, we can’t help but wonder if this has something to do with why Soules split with his Bachelor winner and fianceé, Whitney Bischoff. The two spent a lot of time apart while Soules was competing on Dancing with the Stars, and I know that if I were in Bischoff’s position, I would be at least a little annoyed at the prospect of having to share my man with yet another reality TV show.

And, while Soules always seemed super genuine on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, this is his fourth reality series. That kind of excess really makes us wonder: Was he in it for the fame all along or did he grow to love it so much he can’t give it up?
