It’s looking more and more like Mariah Carey has a new “Heartbreaker” in her life.
It’s been almost a year since Nick Cannon confirmed that he and Carey had separated, and now the vocal powerhouse is snuggling up to a new man rumored to be her boyfriend, according to TMZ. Though Carey hasn’t made an official statement about her relationship with James Packer yet, she’s certainly not denying the two are dating.
Packer’s former wife, Jodhi Meares, shared a photo of the trio together over the weekend on what appears to be Packer’s luxury yacht.

Carey also posted some photos on Instagram of herself and her kids as they reportedly vacationed with Packer in Capri, Italy.

Carey’s new beau may not be a bona fide celeb, but he’s certainly no stranger to the public eye. Here’s what we know about James Packer so far.
1. He’s not just rich
He’s dirty, stinkin’, filthy rich. Packer, whose wealth mostly comes from casinos, was ranked the fourth richest person in Australia in 2014 by Forbes, with an estimated net worth of $4.7 billion. Keep in mind, that $4.7 billion is how much Packer is considered to be worth after he lost $2 billion from fallen revenue at his half-owned Crown Resorts.
2. Carey is not the first celeb he’s been romantically linked to
Remember when Orlando Bloom and Justin Bieber were involved in a little spat over Bieber allegedly hooking up with Bloom’s ex, Miranda Kerr, and Bloom being seen with Bieber’s ex, Selena Gomez? Around the same time, rumors were also flying that Bloom and Kerr had swapped partners with Packer and his ex-wife, Erica Packer. In short, Bloom was allegedly dating Erica Packer and Kerr was allegedly dating James Packer.
Bloom, however, denies the rumors. “I’ve known Erica before she was married to James, when she was married to James and afterwards, and we are all mates,” Bloom told the publication. “It probably looks odd, but we are all mates. We have known each other for a long time.”
3. He has dabbled in Scientology
In 2002, Australia’s Sydney Morning Herald reported that Packer had started attending self-help sessions with the Church of Scientology in Sydney to help get his life back on track after separating from Meares. In 2008, the same publication reported that inside sources had indicated that Packer had moved on from the religion because he “didn’t need it anymore.”

4. He is pals with Tom Cruise
No big surprise there, considering Packer’s involvement with Scientology and the well-known fact that Cruise is a huge devotee of the religion. Packer and Cruise stayed close even after Packer left Scientology in 2008, according to the Morning Herald.
5. He is involved with the entertainment industry
In late 2012, Packer became partners with American filmmaker Brett Ratner, and the two formed RatPac Entertainment. Packer and Ratner were looking to produce and finance independent films and cofinance bigger pictures as well, according to Deadline. Since then, RatPac has produced films such as Aloha, Entourage, Jersey Boys and Horrible Bosses 2, according to IMDB.
Carey is no lightweight in Hollywood, either. Do we smell a new power couple?
6. He didn’t go to college
Packer inherited his wealth from his father and once said he didn’t have the grades to even attempt higher education, according to the Morning Herald. Instead, he was sent to his family’s cattle station for a year of “jackarooing,” which, from what we can gather, is working as an apprentice at a cattle or sheep station to gain experience.
