Sofía Vergara’s embryo decision sparks nasty protest

It’s really rather surprising that people think they have the right to tell Sofía Vergara what she should or should not do with her embryos. What’s even more surprising is the fact that they’ve felt the need to personally attack her decision by saying she has a frozen heart.

According to TMZ, while the Modern Family actress was supporting her beau Joe Manganiello at his latest film premiere, Magic Mike XXL — which was shown at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California — outside there were several protesters who had gathered to slam Vergara over her decision to not bring her two frozen female embryos to term.

Holding up banners reading “Embryo Defense,” “Persons not Property” and “Sofia: Unfreeze your daughters. Unfreeze your heart,” the protestors lobbied outside the theater, hoping to get Vergara’s attention. It’s unclear whether she saw the banners, though.

In case you’re not familiar with the case, Vergara’s ex-fiancé Nick Loeb has filed court documents in an attempt to prevent the embryos he and Vergara created when they were still dating from being destroyed. We get that everyone has their own opinions on these things, but shouldn’t Vergara have autonomy over her own body and be able to make reproductive decisions that are best for her, without receiving backlash from anyone?
