Former Real Housewives of Orange County star Gretchen Rossi gets real about why she left the show, and if she would ever return.
Gretchen Rossi left The Real Housewives of Orange County in Season 8, but Bravo is still trying to win her back. In an exclusive interview with OK! magazine, Rossi revealed the network is already courting the fan favorite for a return. While Rossi hasn’t completely ruled out the possibility, it’s not something she sees in her immediate future.
“They’ve already asked me to come back and do some stuff,” Rossi told OK!. “They’d have to pay me a lot of money! I love the fans and I never say never, but at this point, I have a lot of great projects going on in my life and I’m excited about moving on to the next thing.”

It’s not surprising that Rossi is not eager to return. In the interview, Rossi revealed her time on RHOC was not always pleasant. While she remains friends with most of the cast, the reality show environment was detrimental to her family and her business. It was the fakeness of some of the other participants that ultimately drove her away, because that’s not how she approached the show or her life.

Rossi’s honesty about the fakeness of the reality presented on RHOC is refreshing. The savvy businesswoman’s reasons for leaving the show after a half a decade make perfect sense. Sometimes, reality stars crave actual reality over the exhausting staged reality of television. Maybe Rossi will return at some point, but no one can fault her for taking time to get back in touch with her family and work beyond the reach of the cameras.
