In the photo, posted to her Instagram account, the “Roar” hit maker wants you to know she is on the cover of Forbes magazine, and she isn’t afraid to let you know it. And she tells you why it’s not bragging.
She writes, “Before accepting the offer to be on the cover of Forbes, I was told that a lot of women have previously shied away from doing it. I wondered if it was because they thought socially it would look like they were flaunting or bragging or it wasn’t a humble decision.”

What a terrible sentiment. To think that those thoughts run through the minds of women who have earned the notoriety to grace the cover of Forbes and turn it down because they might be thought of as bragging? Disgusting.
This is the grown-up version of telling girls they’re bossy, but boys have leadership skills.
Perry takes aim at that outdated mind-set and turns her attention squarely on us women. Proverbially shaking us by the shoulders, saying, “Ladies, there is a difference between being humble and working hard to see the fruits of your labor blossom, and your dreams realized. Hopefully this cover can be an inspiration to women out there that it’s okay to be proud of hard earned success and that there is no shame in being a boss.”

She’s not even done being amazing! She says, “Also… don’t think that I didn’t celebrate this moment by going straight to Taco Bell and getting my crunch wrap supreme.”

I think a few of her lines bear repeating because they are so monumentally important, we need to say them again.
It’s OK to be proud of hard-earned success, and there is no shame in being a boss.
Perry dons the cover of Forbes as the highest-earning woman on the Celebrity 100 list, earning an estimated $2 million per city over the course of 126 shows during her Prismatic World Tour and an estimated total of $135 million last year.
That could buy a lot of Taco Bell. Stay awesome, Katy.
