Roskilde Music Festival-goers in Denmark over the weekend certainly got their money’s worth from Britpop legend Damon Albarn. After a set that lasted a staggering five hours Albarn still refused to stop performing.
He’s best known for fronting Blur but on this occasion Albarn was performing with his collective Africa Express and clearly didn’t want the night to end.
Fans were highly entertained by the group’s blatant disregard of the rules despite the event organisers’ warning them that they had passed their official curfew, particularly when they started playing a version of The Clash’s “Should I Stay or Should I Go.”
Finally, at 4 a.m., Albarn was “forcibly removed from the stage,” reported the London Evening Standard.

One fan caught the whole thing on camera, which ended in Albarn being hoisted over the shoulder of a security guard — and finally the show was over.

If you’re planning to catch Blur at any of their upcoming summer festival performances you’ll be hoping Albarn’s in an equally rebellious — and generous — mood.
