Brody Jenner gets uncomfortable talking about Kourtney and Scott’s split

Brody Jenner wants to make it clear that he isn’t related to the Kardashians.

Following news that Kourney Kardashian and Scott Disick are calling it quits on their relationship, Jenner revealed on Today that he isn’t very close with that side of his family anyway.

“That’s the one thing people don’t understand is that we live two completely separate lives,” Brody said of the Kardashian/Jenner clan. “And everybody ties us in together as the Kardashians and the Jenners, but now what’s interesting is they [Kris and Caitlyn] got a divorce so they’re not even technically my family anymore.”

But he did grow up with them. And Caitlyn and Kris raised the kids together. I know Brody means that by blood they aren’t related, but it still seems kind of insensitive when he puts it like that.

Still, Brody said he knew things were bad for the recently separated Kourtney and Scott when he saw the photos of Scott getting close with another woman.

“Scott and Kourtney are great… obviously Scott’s had some issues in the past… he’s worked through them, but when I saw those pictures I said, ‘Oh, this isn’t good.'”

Though Brody did somewhat redeem himself when discussing his father’s transition to Caitlyn over the past few months. “Growing up, I didn’t really have the greatest relationship with Bruce — I didn’t see him that often. And Caitlyn is just a much freer person. It’s incredible to see the difference between Caitlyn and Bruce.”

Brody also revealed that he’s known about his father’s gender identity struggle since his mother, Linda Thompson, told him back in 2012.

“Bruce and I kind of didn’t really get along. And Caitlyn? It’s literally like trying to get to know somebody, like your dad, over again — but in a better way,” Brody added.

Brody’s new show Sex with Brody premieres on E! this Friday. Will you be watching?
