RHONY‘s Ramona Singer sounds so conceited talking about her husband’s affair

Ramona Singer and now ex-husband Mario had been married for 22 years before Singer called it quits with her cheating spouse.

And the “real” reason she’s giving for the split and his cheating sounds like a bunch of self-serving excuses from where we’re sitting.

The reality TV star told People her husband felt left behind. “My success as a celebrity bothered him,” Singer said. Oh, really? How fitting, since she is promoting her book, Life on the Ramona Train. She continued, “I think he felt that we were no longer a team. It was my success as a celebrity reality star and notoriety that bothered him.”

Yes, she’s serious — but she wasn’t done peacocking just yet. “If someone said, ‘Can I take a photo with Ramona?’ or interrupted our conversation at dinner, he would get upset. He could have jumped in, but he continued to be passive,” Singer said.

Singer filed for divorce the first time back in January, after her husband was found cheating on her in the Hamptons, but she reconciled with him. She is now calling it off again and is convinced that it is her celebrity status that caused the rift in her love life. “The affair was really a symptom of unhappiness,” she said.

She later tweeted, “I have decided to move on with my life without Mario. I tried my best to make my marriage work. I am excited for the new chapter in my life.”

Singer doesn’t appear to be losing any sleep over her failed marriage and already has her new man picked out. Her next ideal husband is “in his 50s and has been married, with children in college. He is successful but doesn’t work from 8 to 8, so we can take long weekends and vacations. And he loves to kiss!” Oddly specific, but OK.

She recently told In Touch, “Two years from now, you’re going to see me married! I still believe in love. I’m on a new journey now and I have no doubt I’ll find someone who will be a better fit for me today.”

Maybe she really does feel this way, but it sounds just so unoriginal and trite, it is hard to not see her words as conceited.
