We’ll never get bored of J.K. Rowling‘s Twitter chat. She posted her latest gem yesterday, and it was the perfect comeback to the bozo who made a completely sexist, offensive and inaccurate comment about tennis champ Serena Williams.
Talking about Serena, who won the Wimbledon Ladies’ Final against Garbine Muguruza yesterday, the guy tweeted that “the main reason for her success is that she is built like a man”.
Of course! Talent, dedication and hard work don’t come into it at all. The reason Serena has won Wimbledon six times and is the holder of all four major Grand Slam titles is that she has an awesome set of guns.
Is it just me, or is everyone else totally bored with the notion that to be successful — be it in sport, business, media or the arts — women have to display traditionally “masculine” qualities (or bodies)?
Serena is all woman. Her rock-hard muscles are woman. Her awesome curves are woman. Her determination and positive attitude are woman.
And as J.K. rightly points out, how many men would look like Serena in a figure-hugging red dress?
.@diegtristan8 "she is built like a man". Yeah, my husband looks just like this in a dress. You're an idiot. pic.twitter.com/BCvT10MYkI

And just in case there was any doubt about how much J.K. Rowling thinks of Serena Williams, she continued to sing her praises on the social media site:
#SerenaSlam! I love her. What an athlete, what a role model, what a woman!

We salute you yet again, J.K., for using your social media clout to call out people who don’t have a clue what they’re talking about.
