After three seasons, Real Housewives of New York alum Heather Thomson is calling it quits on the reality show.
Us Weekly has revealed it has an exclusive source, who tells the mag she’s gone for good. The source said Thomson is stepping away from the show to dial in to her business and to spend time with her family.
“She wants to focus full-time on her business, Yummie, her family, and expanding into the health and nutrition arena,” the source said.

The source said Thomson has become disenchanted with her role on the show and the direction her storyline was headed. “She did the show to promote her business and later to be with her best friend, Carole Radziwill, and didn’t expect to end up fighting with Bethenny [Frankel] and Sonja [Morgan] and the rest edited out. It is no longer a good fit with where she sees her life going, so she is making the choice to walk away.”
Fans and critics alike are already weighing in on her decision.
Many fans are sad to see her go and have commented that they too had sneaking suspicions about what they consider bad editing decisions. One commenter said, “I get [why she’s leaving] because you can tell how badly this show is edited for sensationalism… obviously they are splicing and reinserting footage out of sequence.”

Another commenter said, “I will miss her. Genuinely good person who tried to do right by anyone and everyone. She is too functional for the dysfunction and the way she was targeted this year by Dorina and the others was really disgusting.”
Of course, there were more than a few “good riddance” comments and there are those who are glad to see her go, but the overwhelming majority of fans are broken up over Thomson’s exit. Many are applauding her for making what they consider a sound decision.
