Kris Jenner didn’t tweet about Caitlyn Jenner‘s ESPY Awards appearance last night, and people are calling foul.
But I’m saying, back off.

Jenner shouldn’t be expected to tweet or comment on every move her ex-husband makes, especially given the circumstances.
Kris has been more than vocal about the fact that she supports Caitlyn’s decision to transition and that she only wants happiness for both of them. But the woman still just went through a divorce, and not an easy one, at that.
If I were her, I’d think — despite supporting an ex and wanting them to find happiness — there has to be an element of a struggle there, of feeling lied to. Caitlyn is receiving a lot of positive attention right now for her outspoken transition. And she deserves the positive praise.

But Kris Jenner equally deserves the time to move on and grow as a separate person.
She was married to Caitlyn, as Bruce, for nearly 25 years, after all. That isn’t something that you just move on from after a few months because the other person is getting a lot of positive publicity. It has to be hard for her to be alone. And she’s no doubt taking some time to become her own person again.
Kris’s decision not to tweet about Caitlyn’s ESPYs appearance could simply mean that she had other plans last night and hasn’t watched the show yet. Or it could mean that she made the decision not to watch for her own personal reasons. And either way, that’s a decision that should be respected.

We all grow and transition within relationships in different ways. Kris is human. She deserves those rights just as much as anyone else. And if she choses not to tweet about Caitlyn’s speech, it’s perfectly understandable.
It doesn’t mean she doesn’t support Caitlyn. It just means that she’s taking some time to support herself.
