RHOBH‘s Kim Richards’ daughter reportedly gave her an ultimatum

Kim Richards needed a kick in the pants to get her back on track with her tough road to sobriety.

And it’s thanks to her family and their tough love that she is staying on that road to recovery and getting her life back.

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s drinking reached its breaking point after an altercation with a police officer, which resulted in her arrest and in her facing charges of assaulting an officer. Shortly after the incident, she checked into a Malibu rehabilitation facility.

Now we are learning that Richards’ family gave her an ultimatum. A source told Page Six, “Her daughter Brooke gave her tough love. She wouldn’t see her mom until she completed the whole program.”

Richards had left treatment in May when her daughter was getting married so that she could attend the wedding. While there, she appeared “out of it” and Brooke was described by other attendees as “incredibly embarrassed.”

That embarrassment was apparently the straw that broke the camel’s back, because it was following her wedding when Kim’s daughter put her foot down.

The insider explained, “Brooke said she wouldn’t have any contact with her mom until she got help. They had to have a bodyguard go to Mexico after the wedding to retrieve Kim and bring her home and back to treatment.”

This was apparently exactly what the reality star needed. The insider said, “She checked into a new program just outside LA — under a different name — and really committed to working on herself. She’s ready to hit reset and start fresh.”

It appears this could really be it for the embattled star. A little proof? She chose getting well over attending niece Nicky Hilton’s nuptials in London earlier in July. She decided to skip Hilton’s big day and stay in rehab.

We sincerely hope that Richards is able to stay on the wagon and keep her life on the right track.
