Everyone’s favorite Orange Is the New Black star, Ruby Rose, will be headlining at the New City Gas concert venue in Montreal this September, and it’s going to be an awesome party. In fact, there are seven reasons you definitely don’t want to miss it.

The Australian beauty’s career took off after she competed (along with 2,000 other aspiring DJs) to become an MTV VJ in Australia, and it paid off. She’s now a well-liked electronic dance music DJ, and you can expect a lot of energy — and women throwing underwear at her (it’s happened before) — during her set.
2. She’s going to be entertaining
If you know anything about Ruby Rose, then you know she’s got a killer personality and a great sense of humour. This will translate when she’s onstage. Plus, she has some seriously stylish and quirky clothing that she wears while performing.
3. She’s a good person who focuses on charities
Who doesn’t want to support someone who does good in this world? Not only is Rose an incredibly talented model, actress and DJ, but she also finds time to give back. She has travelled to Africa and Laos to volunteer, she’s competed in a boxing match to support Headspace, and she’s lent her voice to several campaigns, including one for anti-bullying and PETA.

4. She’s inspiring, and she challenges gender norms
Ruby Rose is an inspiring person who challenges gender norms and speaks openly about her gender fluidity, which happens to be the topic of her short film Break Free. She also revealed during an interview with The Guardian that she’s gender neutral.
“I feel like I’m neither gender,” she said. “Well, if I had to choose it would be a boy, a guy. I feel like I’m a boy, but I don’t feel like I should’ve been born with different parts of my body or anything like that. I feel like it’s just all in how I dress and how I talk and how I look and feel, and that makes me happy.”

Right, well, this can be a pro or a con, depending on how you look at it. But Canadian star Justin Bieber and Ruby Rose happen to be good friends, so he might come out and show his support for her in Montreal.
6. She’s mind-blowingly beautiful
While it’s clear that Ruby Rose is much, much more than just a pretty face, we can’t help but mention that she is insanely beautiful. So if you’re not all that interested in music, then you can just gaze at her beauty — she’s making both men and women fall hopelessly in love with her.
7. The venue promises one heck of a party
Ruby Rose will be playing her set on Sept. 11, at New City Gas as part of her North American tour. The concert venue, located in the heart of Griffintown, is well known and boasts an impressive history: The building was originally built in 1859 and used as a place to transform coal into gas — hence the name.
