We don’t know much about the upcoming Bridget Jones movie, the much-anticipated third instalment of the franchise based on Helen Fielding’s bestselling books. So we’re all over anything we do hear about Bridget Jones’s Baby — and the latest rumour is that Ed Sheeran will be making an appearance.
However Ed’s not making the leap from music to movies (as far as we know). According to The Sun, it’s his recent concert in Dublin’s Croke Park stadium that will feature in the film.
Apparently Bridget Jones was in the audience enjoying Ed’s set — but it wasn’t actress Renée Zellweger on top of a mystery man’s shoulders. According to a source the film’s producers decided it would be safer to use a stunt double: “They knew the cat would be out the bag the minute people saw her at the show.”

Fans of Bridget will be delighted to hear that filming has started as both cast decisions and storyline have been shrouded in secrecy. Given the film’s title we can safely assume that Bridget is going to give birth in the new movie. When it comes to the father that’s anyone’s guess, although if it’s Daniel Cleaver’s, he’ll be an absent father: Hugh Grant went on record to say he won’t be part of the third instalment.
MailOnline reported in June that Renée Zellweger and Colin Firth (who played Mark Darcy in the previous instalments) will begin shooting Bridget Jones’s Baby in late autumn “if final negotiations can be concluded over the next two to three weeks.”

“We are keen to try to make it later this year, but there’s still nothing definite yet,” said Eric Fellner, co-chairman of Working Title, the production company responsible for the two earlier Bridget Jones films, Bridget Jones’s Diary and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.
The third movie is based on columns written by Bridget Jones’ creator Helen Fielding eight years ago and not Fielding’s most recent Bridget novel, Mad About The Boy, in which Bridget is a single mother to two children because her husband (Darcy) has died.
Feller and Sharon Maguire, who directed Bridget Jones’s Diary in 2001, have had “extensive meetings” with Renée Zellweger and Colin Firth, as well as assembling key crew members, location-hunting in the U.K. and contacting other actors from the first two Bridget films, including Gemma Jones and Jim Broadbent, who played Bridget’s parents.
