But in a new interview with People magazine, Gordon’s biological mother, Michele Gordon, revealed he said goodbye to her in a different way, his own way.
“Nick went to the beach with me on Friday during the services,” Michele told the publication of their trip to Daytona Beach, Florida. “He said the beach was always their favorite place to go so he decided that he would honor her at a place that they both loved.”

As previously reported, Nick and the Houston-Brown family are not on good terms as police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to Brown’s death. According to People, Whitney Houston’s daughter’s conservators have filed a $40 million civil lawsuit against Nick because they believe he manipulated Brown and that he transferred a “large portion” of her money into an account that was solely controlled by him.
Brown died on July 26, almost six months after being found unresponsive in a tub at her Georgia home on Jan. 31. She was laid to rest on Saturday, Aug. 1, during a funeral that a family friend described as “perfect,” even after the feud between the Houston and Brown families heated up during the service.
