Miley Cyrus’ new VMAs promo proves the show won’t be kid-appropriate (VIDEO)

Miley Cyrus is already showing us that all bets are off for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, and the show isn’t even for almost another month.

The singer, who gained more than a little notoriety after her 2013 VMAs performance where she dry humped Robin Thicke right into divorce court, will be hosting this year, and judging from the promos she has been sharing on Instagram, you might want to send the kids to bed early that night.

Guess who’s not thrilled about Miley’s hosting gig? The Parents Television Council.

“MTV’s choice of Miley Cyrus as host for its annual Video Music Awards show makes clear the network’s intentions as to what kind of program it intends to air,” read a statement from PTC president Tim Winter. “If MTV cannot guarantee that the program will be suitable for children, then the network must — must — rate the show TV-MA. Assigning any lower age-rating constitutes an express message to parents, and to corporate sponsors, that the program will be free of explicit material.”

The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards will be held on Aug. 30.
