During Thursday’s GOP debate, candidate Donald Trump was called out for his often-hateful rhetoric toward women.
When asked by co-moderator Megyn Kelly to explain himself for referring to women — both on the campaign trail and on social media — as “dogs, slobs and disgusting animals,” Trump responded, without missing a beat, “Only Rosie O’Donnell.”
Despite the crowd’s mixed reaction of gasps and cheers, it’s no surprise that no love is lost between Trump and O’Donnell. The two have been in an ongoing feud for years now.

But O’Donnell, who would have been completely justified in answering Trump’s remark with anger, instead took the high road in a tweet she posted almost immediately after Trump’s comment, seemingly directed at the business-mogul-turned-presidential-candidate.
“Try explaining that 2 ur kids,” O’Donnell wrote.

It’s not even the first time this year that Trump has lashed out at O’Donnell with crass comments.
“It’s very sad what’s happened to The View, and I predicted that, with Rosie O’Donnell, it would fail,” Trump told E! News earlier this year. “The prediction is correct. I mean, she’s a total train wreck. Let’s see what happens, and I hope it works out well.”
He continued, “I’ve been on The View many times and I like the show a lot, but let’s face it — Rosie’s a loser.”
The rest of the debate, which featured 10 GOP candidate hopefuls — Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, Jeb Bush, John Kasich, Marco Rubio, Chris Christie, Mike Huckabee, Ben Carson and Rand Paul — was filled with similarly crass comments from Trump, who repeatedly referred to the American government as “stupid.”
