Pretty Little Liars recently introduced a mysterious new villain into the mix named Rhys Matthews. While we don’t know much about the character (other than he might be ChArles), we did recently find out some fun facts about the actor who plays him, Caleb Lane — including which huge celebrity he’s best friends with. Here are 10 things to know about Lane:
1. He’s a model

It’s probably obvious, considering how good-looking he is, but Lane’s primary profession is actually modeling. He’s appeared in major ad campaigns with top fashion industry favorites including Calvin Klein, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani Exchange, GUESS and Lancôme, among others.

2. He’s a Southern boy
Lane grew up in Dallas, Texas. He moved to New York when he was 20 to pursue his modeling career, and now lives in Los Angeles
3. He’s also a singer-songwriter
As if acting and modeling weren’t enough to keep anyone busy, Lane also writes and sings his own songs. He released an EP, Ashes to Earth, that you can check out on SoundCloud.
4. He’s BFFs with Channing Tatum

Lane and Tatum met during their younger modeling days in New York and have been close friends for over a decade. He’s posted several snapshots of the two of them going to the gym, partying and hanging out on his Instagram, including the one above.

5. His name served as inspiration for Tatum’s Magic Mike character
Need further proof of Tatum and Lane’s friendship? Tatum used Lane’s last name for the Magic Mike movie — his character is Mike Lane.
6. He would consider joining the MagicMike cast
When asked if he would ever consider stripping for a Magic Mike film alongside Tatum, Lane told Yahoo! Style, “I could awkwardly strip. Maybe with enough rehearsal and choreography and gym.”
Oh, and as for his stripper persona? “I’d be like the stripper poet,” he said. “I’d come out and read some romantic thing.”
7. He loves puppies

8. He has a tattoo dedicated to his mom
Lane has several tattoos, but the most meaningful one? A rose tattoo that he has on his side. “My mom passed away 12 years ago, and I got it to represent her without it being the typical ‘Mom’ or her birth-date tattoo,” he said of the ink.

9. He has a girlfriend
Sorry ladies, he’s taken! Lane is currently dating Daniela Dib, a fellow model-actress who will have a minor role in the upcoming X-Files revival. She’s also a fitness instructor and helps keep Lane in shape. “My girlfriend is a Soul Cycle instructor, so I go to that with her a lot,” Lane told Yahoo! Style.
9. His acting career is just beginning

The PLL role (seen above) is a big one for Lane, who’s clearly starting to push further into acting. Another project on the horizon? As recently announced on Facebook, the star is also set to costar in Phantasmagoria: The Movie, the film adaptation of the horror adventure video game.
