Jeff Lewis and Gage Edward will have to focus on building one very special room in their next home, if all goes as planned: a nursery.
The Flipping Out stars revealed that after a long search, they have finally found the perfect surrogate to help them have a baby of their own — and Lewis said his biggest fear was scaring her away.
“I was so afraid that I would screw it up,” he told TV Guide about their first meeting.
“It’s like a date, but it’s also a job interview. My biggest fear was that she would Google scenes from the show and not want to work with us.”

Lewis is known for his controlling tendencies on the show, a fact that is not lost on him. “That poor girl doesn’t know what she’s in for,” he joked. “I can’t control her diet, but I can certainly make suggestions.”
It’s all in jest, though — mostly. “I’m confident that she’s going to take very good care of our baby,” he said. “But will I be stressed? Yeah.”
There is one rule he will insist on, however: no surrogate sex during the third trimester.

“For whatever reason, I have this phobia about her having sex with her husband too close to the delivery. I don’t want our baby to see that!” Lewis said.
But most of this is a case of putting the cart before the horse, because the surrogate is not yet pregnant.
Lewis and Edward have been a couple for six years and have been trying to have a baby for over four and a half of those years.
