Chasing Life: April and Leo’s vows were utterly perfect

Gasp! Ladies, it’s official: April made her choice and sealed her fate with Leo. The “will-they-won’t-they” tug-of-war is finally over for Chasing Life.

More:Admittedly, we weren’t initially impressed with the show

For better or worse, April chose Leo once and for all tonight and left Dom high and dry. And, holy crap, was it an emotional ride. First, Dom didn’t show at the wedding and, halfway down the aisle towards a forever with Leo, April passed out. After being rushed to the hospital, her doctor decided to take her off the meds, unsure if they were causing her rash and breathing issues. Of course, her doc also advised her to take it easy and, from April’s perspective, it seemed as though the wedding might have to wait. When Leo asked to speak with the doctor privately, though, we knew immediately what he was planning.

Hospital wedding, anyone?! OK, so it was super predictable and cheesy. But isn’t that why we love ABC Family shows? April’s wedding was absolutely the perfect TV wedding topped off with the most adorable and tear-inducing vows on the planet.

“When I first met April, I had a death sentence that I accepted instead of trying to fight,” Leo began. “But then I spent some time with April Carver and she finds new ways to show me how special and important and absolutely mind-blowing life can be. Why would I not want to spend the rest of my life with the person who taught me it was worth fighting for? I love adventures. And I can’t think of a better one than life with you.”

Of course, the real vows we were waiting for were April’s. She spent the entire episode struggling to come up with what to write. When the wedding took a turn from a church to a chapel, our brave girl became inspired and her vows, well, let’s just say we’re still teary-eyed.

“I’m so happy the wedding’s in this room,” April said. “It’s in this very place that I tried to hide form my fears. When things got too hard, I ran away. I ran here. And right here is where you found me. And you taught me that courage isn’t about being unafraid. It’s about giving yourself no other option in the face of your fears. A brilliant woman once told me that the foundation of marriage is love, but the reality of it is commitment. I’m so lucky that I get to commit myself to someone that makes me happier, more courageous and more excited about everything in my life.”

What’s next for the newlyweds? Guess we’ll just have to keep watching Chasing Life to find out.
