Teen Mom Maci Bookout loses the respect of her fans over new pic (PHOTO)

Maci Bookout’s recent Instagram post has lost her the respect of her fans.

The Teen Mom star is the least controversial mom on the hit MTV series, but that may have all changed, thanks to a single post. Taking to Instagram in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Bookout posted a picture of her wearing a waist trainer — a popular fad among celebrities at the moment.

She captioned the pic with, “Wearing My Favorite Waist Cincher From @Colombianwaist. Use the code “Maci” for a discount www.Colombianwaist.com Thanks@Colombianwaist!”

But fans are disappointed that she’d promote this product when many consider it to be unsafe.

Comments include, “This is not good for your organs. Come on girl, you’re small without this mess. If you want to be in shape do it the right way, the healthy way,” “These are not safe. I’m kind of surprised you’re promoting them,” and “you’re the last teen mom I expected to be advertising something like this… Just saying.. It isn’t even safe for your fans.”

Another fan shared her concern about waist trainers and how they reportedly squash your organs.

She wrote, “Hey girls anybody looking at thease [sic] pictures of woman using thease [sic] corsets for waist training just wanted to let you know I was watching dr.oz [sic] today and I thought that I should share that doctors are now saying that it squishes all your organs and ribs together which will help you get a bit of a smaller waist but is not healthy for your body. ..im [sic] not saying not to do it,thats [sic] up to you to decide for yourself ..just saying do a little research before you invest in one.”

Fans also have expressed their utter disappointment at the fact that someone they respect so much could use social media as a product plug.

“Am disappointed, I didn’t think you’d advertise this,” one fan wrote. And that person is not the only one. Another fan agreed, writing a lengthy message about her disappointment.

She wrote, “Aw maci I just lost a little bit of the major respect I have for you seeing this picture. You are gorgeous and have a fab figure especially just having had a baby loads of girls look up to you and you’ve just basically told them to try some crazy thing to look good I always thought you were the most sensible person on the show and never were anything other than yourself. Now you tell women its [sic] not ok to be yourself disappointed.”
