Despite being dumped in front of millions for a second time, Bachelorette “villain” Nick Viall isn’t giving up on reality TV love just yet.
The perpetual ex told HuffPost‘s “Here to Make Friends” podcast he would seriously consider it if ABC asked him to be the next Bachelor. During the same interview, he admitted that in the absence of such an offer, he’s rooting for fan favorite Ben Higgins. So who would make the better Bachelor? Let’s explore some of the pros and cons of these former suitors.

Likability
Nick V.
The matter of Nick’s appeal depends on who you ask. If you’ve been in his corner since Andi Dorfman’s season, you clearly think he’s dreamy enough to ignore some of his more questionable behavior. In defense of this logic, we defer to his shirtless Insta-pics. Me-ow.
Ben H.
Who doesn’t adore Ben H.? Not even Nick can resist the 26-year-old’s charm. “I have a lot of respect for Ben H. He is as sweet as everyone thinks he is,” Viall told HuffPost. The only threat to Ben’s universal appeal we can predict would be a small contingency of ladies who think he’s too boyish and prefer Nick’s bad boy vibe over Ben’s boy next door charm.
The quality of dates

Dates would never be dull because, let’s face it, he’s a bit of a wild card. While we don’t imagine he’d go as far into left field as Kaitlyn (hello, sumo wrestling and mariachi singing!), Nick would likely offer up more than your standard candlelit dinner date. On the down side, he’ll likely subject us to marginal moral discomfort — read: making out in a church.
Ben H.
Because Ben H. is the consummate gentleman, he will obviously make the lady he is with feel like the belle of the ball. This means grand gestures and, yes, probably a few candlelit dinners and fairy tale outings. But, because he’s also an outdoorsy dude, Ben’s dates could include exciting adventures like a nature hike or — and we’re just spitballin’ here — parasailing.
The probability of drama

Should Nick become the next Bachelor, the forecast would call for severe drama with a slight chance of Kardashley. The tears would flow freely — and the women might cry some, too. To Nick’s credit, part of the drama he creates stems from the fact that he is such a passionate person. Passion is good.
Ben H.
When it comes to Ben, we can’t imagine the sweet software salesman would rile up any unnecessary strife. But, then again, this is the Bachelor franchise we’re talking about and anything (and we mean anything) is possible. Girl-on-girl drama is a likely side effect of trying to land a catch like this.

The frequency of loud kissing
Nick V.
This one’s a toss-up. Nick definitely provided an ample amount of loud kissing screen time on The Bachelorette this season, but it’s entirely possible that Kaitlyn is the noisy snogger. This much we know — he must be a pretty good kisser, because both Andi and Kaitlyn made out with him mucho.
Ben H.
Looking back on Ben H.’s romantic moments with Kaitlyn, we can’t seem to recall being particularly irked by the decibel level of Ben H.’s kissing. These odds will increase if he becomes the Bachelor, though, because everyone is going to want to make out with him. All. The. Time.
The end result

Ideally, Nick will have learned from his prior failed attempts at finding reality TV love and embrace being the most sincere version of himself. If he is the total softie we suspect he is, this will inevitably lead to a proposal and — fingers crossed! — true love. Of course, there’s also the very real chance he’ll end up a three-peat jiltee.
Ben H.
Because Ben lives life so openly and authentically, there can be no other outcome for him than hopeless, romantic love. Not only can we envision him sweeping some lucky lady off of her feet, but we can actually see them making it work for the long haul. Woe be to the girl who does dare to break Ben’s heart, though — superfans surely wouldn’t take kindly to that.
