Yes, you read correctly. The Notebook is being adapted into a TV series, and below are four things you need to know.
1. You can thank The CW
Earlier this week, it was revealed that The CW will be making the TV version of Nicholas Sparks’ tear-jerking drama The Notebook.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the official synopsis reads: “This series will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina.”

2. Who will take the roles of Noah and Allie?
We can’t possibly picture anyone other than Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in the roles of Noah and Allie, but it’s unlikely they will reprise their roles for the small screen. However, casting and airing dates are still unknown — so you never know!
3. The elderly couple will be omitted from the adaptation
The series will only focus on the younger Noah and Allie in that post-World War II setting.
“I don’t believe we’re going to see the older couple — what they become,” The CW president Mark Pedowitz told reporters at the Television Critics Association’s press tour, Entertainment Weekly reports. “But things change [in development]. I’m thrilled Nick Sparks wanted to do it at The CW.”

4. Nicholas Sparks will still be involved
That leads us to the next point: Nicholas Sparks will still be a part of The Notebook and will serve as an executive producer on the project, along with Theresa Park. According to Entertainment Weekly, Todd Graff will be the writer.
No doubt the film is going to be a very tough act to follow. Regardless, we’re incredibly excited and are already stocking up on tissues.
