The Duggars could be returning to TV, thanks to another reality TV family

The Duggars might be worming their way back onto your TV screen, with a little help from some friends — and not everyone is happy about it.

Despite the fact that their hit show 19 Kids and Counting was canceled following Josh’s molestation scandal, the family could be hitting the airwaves again, thanks to Jana’s friendship with another reality family.

Michaella Bates of UPtv’s Bringing Up Bates has asked Jana to be a bridesmaid in her wedding, which is being televised for the show, and the entire Duggar family has been invited to the nuptials.

“Michaella got engaged this April and quickly lined up her wedding party. She asked Jana to be a bridesmaid and she happily accepted. All of this was done before the Josh Duggar molestation scandal broke on May 21,” an insider told the Daily Mail. “But now it’s created a bit of a controversy, and some serious issues.”

It turns out, despite the close friendship between the Duggar and Bates families, the latter is afraid the former will try to steal the spotlight on Michaella’s special day and use it as a PR opportunity for themselves.

“While the Duggar family is invited to the wedding, the Bates don’t want them causing controversy or trying to hijack the wedding for their own agenda,” the insider said. “It will be interesting to see if they get left on the cutting room floor in the editing room, or if Jim Bob will use it as an opportunity for himself and his family.”

Michaella’s wedding is set for Aug. 15, 2015.
