Kim Kardashian is speaking out about gun control in the wake of a horrifying tragedy, and she might actually have a great point.
The reality star tweeted her dismay and disgust after learning about the murders of eight people allegedly at the hands of David Conley, who is accused of the shootings of his ex-girlfriend Valerie Jackson, her husband and her six children — including his own son. In her posts, Kardashian revealed some gruesome details of the killings.

Kardashian’s point is a valid one. Conley has a long criminal record dating back at least 15 years, including auto theft, drug possession, evading arrest and domestic violence. In 2000, he was sentenced to five years in prison for assaulting Jackson with a knife. He was arrested again in 2008 for disorderly conduct, and in 2013 for threatening Jackson once more. He served nine additional months in jail.
So how does someone with such a lengthy criminal record get their hands on a gun, legally? As Kardashian points out, corroborated by a police source, Conley bought the gun online within the last two weeks. The details of the transaction are unclear.
Conley has been charged with capital murder and could face the death penalty.
