Sunday night’s Teen Choice Awards was filled with surprises, one of which was former Dance Moms star Chloe Lukasiak’s win.

Lukasiak beat out Maddie Ziegler — who has already enjoyed major success, including appearing in Sia’s video for “Chandelier” and “Elastic Heart” — as well as Stephen “tWitch” Boss, Allison Holker, Derek Hough and Les Twins for the Choice Dancer honor at the show. And fans were completely shocked, taking to social media to express as much.

Of course, the win was well-deserved, and Lukasiak proved she has many fans rooting for her, something that she appeared to remind her old dance coach, Abby Lee Miller, of. On Dance Moms, Miller constantly pitted Lukasiak and Ziegler against each other, and told Lukasiak she wasn’t a “good enough” dancer, Hollywood Life reports.
During her acceptance speech, Lukasiak said, “I also wanted to say: To anyone who has ever been told that they can’t do it, that they shouldn’t do it, or they aren’t good enough — ignore it. Do it anyways, and prove them wrong.”

The only thing Lukasiak fans regretted is that they couldn’t see Abby’s face during her acceptance speech.
