RHOA‘s transgender cast member is making Real Housewives history

The Real Housewives of Atlanta is getting a new star, and she’s going to make Real Houswives history.

After NeNe Leakes had revealed she would be not be returning to the show for an eighth season, fans were concerned about whether producers could find a woman who could fill her footsteps, but it looks like they have. According to TMZAmiyah Scott will join the cast next season, and she will also become the show’s first transgender cast member.

Scott was born Arthur but transitioned 10 years ago when she 17 years old, TMZ reports. She has since become a model, and according to her Instagram bio, she is also a “makeup guru,” “weaveologist” and a “beauty consultant.”

Fans of Scott cannot wait until she joins the show and have showered her social media pages with messages of encouragement, including, “I hope it’s true that your [sic] going to be on RHOA!!!! Congrats if you are and I can’t wait to watch @kingamiyahscott,” “So proud of you yeas [sic] RHOA I CANT WAIT,” and “Omg guess who i saw on TMZ!!! Congratulations dear! I’ll watch because of u!”
