Jessa Duggar reportedly blames sex scandal for ruining her first pregnancy

19 Kids and Counting fans won’t get to see Jessa Duggar‘s pregnancy highlighted on TV like her sister Jill’s was, and she is not very happy about that.

A Duggar insider says that sharing her baby joy on Instagram isn’t enough, and that Jessa longs for the carefree days before her brother Josh was exposed as an alleged incestuous child molester who abused four of his sisters plus another young girl.

“It is now bittersweet, because it’s not lost on [Jessa] that Jill giving birth to Israel got an entire TLC special devoted to it,” a source close to the family told People.

“Jessa would have liked to have had the same sort of platform to give thanks, show what a miracle she feels her child is and express her gratitude,” the source explained. But since 19 Kids and Counting was canceled following public outrage over the molestation reports, “the show isn’t there to chronicle this happy time, and even though she’s posting on social media, the scandal still gets brought up by commenters. So much has changed for Jessa compared to what Jill experienced, and it can’t be changed back. And that’s sad for her.”

Instead, Jessa is stuck sharing her pregnancy on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, just like the rest of us, poor thing.

We will see her in all her pregnancy glory on TV before she gives birth, though. She and Jill are expected to appear on a TLC special bringing awareness to childhood sexual abuse in conjunction with RAINN and Darkness to Light, airing on Aug. 30.

In the meantime, here’s a bump pic, featuring Jessa wearing a scandalously tight maternity shirt.
