Teresa and Joe Giudice’s beach house auction was a huge fail

If you have $100, you missed out on a heck of an opportunity this week.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Giudice were forced to put their foreclosed, five-bedroom Jersey Shore beach house up for auction, and though the bidding started at only $100, no one was interested and the property didn’t sell.

“This particular home was purchased as an investment property several years ago before the real estate market crashed and before Hurricane Sandy caused significant damage to the area where the home is located,” Teresa’s lawyer, James J. Leonard Jr., told People magazine Wednesday. “The reality is, there really was no value left, other than sentimental, and that is why they decided to part ways with the home.”

The magazine reports that the mortgage holder bought back the property after no one bid and will now have the opportunity to list it on the market.

The epic fail of an attempted home sale comes amid continuing legal drama for the Giudice family as Teresa finishes her current prison sentence and Joe prepares to begin his in December. The reality stars are serving time for tax crimes, but were allowed to serve their sentences separately so one of them could stay home with their kids.

And the auction occurred just days after some serious drama went down at the Jersey Shore vacation home: Police were called to the residence following complaints from neighbors about “loud arguing.” Police told reporters Joe was in the house at the time, along with Teresa’s parents, his kids, his brother, his brother’s wife and three of his brother’s children.

“It was a keep-and-restore-the-peace call made over loud arguing,” patrol officer Christopher Fritz of New Jersey’s Stafford Township Police Department reportedly said. “Once everyone was calmed down, we cleared… there was no cause for arrest.”
