Josh Duggar admits his addiction to pornography and extramarital affairs

Josh Duggar has officially confessed to cheating on his wife and being addicted to pornography.

Just when we thought the Duggar scandal couldn’t get any more deplorable, Josh delivered again after Gawker released hacked information that he had not one, but two Ashley Madison accounts, which he was using to cheat on his wife, Anna.

And, now, Duggar has confessed to the behavior.

In a new blog post on the Duggar family website, Josh said, “I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the Internet, and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.”

Now, looking at pornography is one thing. But the fact that Josh was so judgmental of others, pushing for his version of family values while working as a family values activist, just makes this story all the more shocking.

The message Josh and, de facto, his family is sending is essentially: God forbid a man romantically love another man, but sexual molestation and cheating on your spouse are acceptable sins that can be easily forgiven by God with a blog post.

Josh continued his post by saying, “I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.

“I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust.”

I’m sorry, but if he really did feel so bad about all of his indiscretions, he would have come clean a long time ago and not just when he got caught.

How many times can Josh apologize before people realize that his moral compass is just irrevocably screwed up?

I don’t feel bad for Josh, not even a little. But I do feel bad for his wife and children. His wife has stayed by his side through the molestation scandal, defending him as a loving husband and father through thick and thin. And how does he thank her? He gets on Ashley Madison.

Update:

In a really (really) bad PR move, the Duggar parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, have re-posted their son’s statement on his infidelity and pornography addiction, as well as his sexual abuse of minors, and they have repackaged it, removing the bits they didn’t like. On the family website on Thursday, Josh’s statement was posted and read, in part, “I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust.”

But no less than an hour later, the statement had been revised.

It now reads, “I have brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions.”

Another changed statement originally read, “I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this because a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.”

It was changed to read, “I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have been unfaithful to my wife.” See the original below.

Are the Duggar patriarch and matriarch so callous that they didn’t think the public would notice the changes? Are they so self-righteous that they can’t even mention by name the crimes and sins of their own flesh and blood?

Solidly a bad move on the part of the Duggar parents.
