Joy Behar is back on The View, all thanks to Barbara Walters

The View has announced its official new lineup and it looks like everyone’s favorite ginger, Joy Behar, is set to return.

Joy Behar is practically synonymous with The View. She started the show alongside Barbara Walters and stuck it out at the table for 16 seasons until she left the show in 2013. After plenty of contention and back-and-forth, it looks as though she’s set to return. Can she be the voice of reason on the increasingly contentious daytime talk show? Barbara Walters hopes so and, rumor has it, played a big part in bringing Behar back to the set. She’s back and she’s ready to work!

“Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in,” Behar said in a statement. “Plus, Steve was getting tired of applauding every time I gave my opinion. But I’m happy to be back home. And I’m looking forward to sticking my two cents into the hot topics, especially now that Hillary [Clinton] and the Donald are in the spotlight.”

This comes just weeks after Behar shared that, despite the network’s best efforts, she wouldn’t return. She previously said that they just weren’t giving her enough credit and creative license despite her connections and experience. Hopefully, this means they’ve changed their minds and Behar will play a bigger part in the show’s production.

Behar will be joined by two new faces at the table as well. As previously rumored, Paula Faris and Full House‘s Candace Cameron Bure will also pull up seats at the table. Like Behar, Faris has plenty of experience on daytime television. Bure, however, is a relative newbs. She’s guested on the show before, but now she’s joining full time.

“I am thrilled to be joining The View as a regular cohost this fall,” Bure said in a statement. “I am honored to be a new addition to such a strong group of bright and opinionated women, and I look forward to sharing this exciting journey with viewers new and old.”

Bure, a conservative Christian, will no doubt take up where Elisabeth Hasselbeck left off when she quit. Yes, she’s a familiar face to millennials. But will her viewpoints appeal to younger viewers and pull in new fans? Only time will tell.
